Is it Satanic or Santorum?

Posted on by GilbertCT in Home | 2,968 Comments

Rick Santorum is by far the more religious nut I’ve seen, since Al’Qaida emerged and even they look at Santorum as an extremist.  He has yet to have a speech that he does not mention his religion.  I’m not sure if this is a strategy or he really is a religious zealot.  His religious rhetoric quite frankly freaks me out.

“Satan has his sights on the United States of America!” Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum has declared.

”Satan is attacking the great institutions of America, using those great vices of pride, vanity, and sensuality as the root to attack all of the strong plants that has so deeply rooted in the American tradition.”

“This is a spiritual war. And the Father of Lies has his sights on what you would think the Father of Lies would have his sights on: a good, decent, powerful, influential country – the United States of America. If you were Satan, who would you attack in this day and age?”

”He attacks all of us and he attacks all of our institutions.”  – Drudge Report

Slow down there Santorum.  Satan is attacking the United States?  Does that mean he has absolutely nothing to do with what’s going on in Syria, Iran, and North Korea among other places.   If I were him (which I’m not), I’d focus a bit more on countries that are much easily influenced.  Kind of like the countries I mentioned previously. Starving their people

Whatever happened to separating Church and State? Isn’t that what we’ve been trying to do for many years?  You are making us go backwards Santorum.  The entire purpose of the United States of America is to be completely free and democratic.  Which means we must separate Church and State in order to do so.  Remember Thomas Jefferson?  He wrote the following in 1802, “…legislature” should “make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,” thus building a wall of separation between church and State…”

Santorum you already don’t have any electability and saying crazy things like that, will push Independents away from you.  Unfortunately for you, but fortunately for me, that means you will not be elected as the President.  How do you go about getting an exorcism?

Ok, I’ll admit this headline is misleading. The conservative politicians weren’t mad at Nicki Minaj, but like the rest of us, they were probably very confused.

Seriously, what the hell was that? A take on the exorcism? A criticism on the Catholic faith? A reproduction of a Saturday sleepover in Jerry Sandusky’s basement? I’m almost positive Lady Gaga was sitting there like, “wow that’s some messed up sh*t!”

Listen, I’m no singer. I’m sure if you’re a female musical super star and you are looking around and see Katy Perry’s smurf-esque hair or Lady Gaga’s fish net mask then you probably want to make a statement of your own. I can see the logic there. However, I don’t think it’s necessary to have people dressed as three toed sloths crawling around the stage to make yourself heard.

Take Adele, for example. That thick Brit cleaned up at the Grammy’s like it was a buffet line, and all she used was her voice. The point is, it is possible to still be talented without making yourself look like something coming out of Pee Wee’s playhouse.

I may not know much about performing, but I do know one thing. If Mark Wahlberg was at the Grammy’s Nicki Minaj’s performance wouldn’t have gone down like that.

South Carolina GOP Race Heats Up

Posted on by GilbertCT in Home | 1,719 Comments

It’s been a few weeks since the beginning of the causes and primaries in the GOP race.  Iowa and New Hampshire were obviously strong showings for Mitt Romney but no one wishes to give credit to the other candidate; Ron Paul.  Ron finished a strong 3rd place in Iowa and finished 2nd in New Hampshire, yet all anyone can talk about is Gingrich and Romney.  Who the hell cares?  Ron Paul might seem like a nut job on some of his proposals but he’s the most sane person out of the bunch.  Ron Paul you might actually have my vote if you make it to the general election.

Of course all the bashing is going to end up helping the Democrats in the general election, but one unlikely person has suddenly thrown their hat into the race; Stephen Colbert.  No, that is not a typo.  Stephen Colbert is once again running for office.  This time he’s running for “President of the United States of South Carolina”, after a poll found he was beating John Huntsman(Who?) 5% to 4%.  Although, earlier this week ,we found out that Huntsman was dropping out of the race and endorsing Romney.  I’m sure those 9 votes are going to help Romney in the long run.

Stephen Colbert is one of the smartest political satyr comedians out there.  Sorry Jon Stewart, but Colbert takes the cake (I’ll give you close 2nd place).  He had started a Super PAC late last year to show how anonymous donations to super PACS are hurting our governments elections.  They can pretty much use unlimited amounts of money for attack or support ads for the candidates as long as they don’t coordinate with them.  Sounds like a bunch of crap, I know.  Colbert turned over his PAC to Stewart since you can’t run for office AND be apart of a PAC.  Since then, there has been a completely new ad attacking Romney which is ingenious.

I fully support Stephen Colbert for president.  Not just because I wish to see him more than 4 times a week but because he isn’t Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich.  These guys will push us into what I believe would be some pretty crappy times for America.  Well.. much crappier times I should say.  I will leave you with the attack ad that’s showing in South Carolina.

Kris Humphries Edges Out Lebron for NBA’s Biggest Douche

Posted on by E_Ranks in Home | 3,291 Comments

FORBES - Kris Humphries of the New Jersey Nets seemed to be living life a bit over his head. Young, handsome and married to Kim Kardashian, Humphries’ mug was all over magazine covers and entertainment television. It’s a role usually reserved for an L.A. or New York star, not a New Jersey role player. Then recently, Humphries’ marriage to Kardashian was over – 72 days after it started. Then came the speculation: Was the marriage fake all along? Was Kim really caught in a nude Yoga session with a male instructor in their home? It’s all created enough tabloid fatigue for the public, when asked which player in the NBA they most dislike, now choose Humphries’ name before any other. Testing the public view toward the least liked players in the NBA, scores are compiled from the latest surveys done by Nielsen and E-Poll Market Research, an Encino, Calf.-based firm that tracks perceptions of athletes and other celebrities. Sticking with NBA players who register at least 10% awareness levels with the public, the list is comprised of those players garnering the most votes from people claiming a view of them as “dislike,” dislike somewhat,” or “dislike a lot.” Humphries’ tabloid fodder proved to be relatively good news for LeBron James, who avoids the top spot after the negative reviews he got during the summer of 2010 for his drawn out “Decision” to leave Cleveland for Miami. Though James is obviously not the first player to ditch his original team as a free agent, the public was clearly put off by what was perceived to be a self indulgent ESPN special as a venue for the announcement.  While few outside Cleveland were actually burning his jersey, James’s failure to extend the courtesy of a heads up to the Cavaliers beforehand didn’t endear him to the broader public.

Top 10 Most Disliked NBA Players:

1. Kris Humphries

2. Lebron James

3. Kobe Bryant

4. Tony Parker

5. Metta World Peace (Ron Artest)
